Biography

Ransom Smith was born in Hanover, Virginia, the son of Gulielmus Smith and his unknown wife. [1] [2]

He fought in the Revolutionary War and then married Elizabeth Moss. [3] They were the parents of eight children.

The family moved to Tennessee by 1830. [4]

Ransom died there in 1855.

Smith-66341 and Smith-13942 appear to represent the same person because: Both married to the same lady so definitely a merge is required here -- one of Ransom's profile is filled with dates, links, etc., the other only has the link to the wife.
