Jane Vazeille Smith was born in about 1770. She was the daughter of William Smith and Jane Vazeille.
She was Christened on 17 December 1770 at St Andrew Par Reg and Nonconf., Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England[1].
Jane was the step-granddaughter of the founder of Methodism,
She married widower Kristian "Christopher" Sundius on about 4 July 1798 at Saint Andrew, Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England[2].
They reportedly had nine children, some of whom were:
Christopher Christian Smith Sundius (1800 – ?)
Charles Christian Sundius (1802 – 1833)
Jane Wilhelmina Sundius (1803 – 1878)
Henry Augustus Sundius (1805 – ?)
Laura Gustafva Mee Sundius (1808 – 1894)
Elizabeth Mary Sundius (1811 – 1895)
Her husband died in 1835.
UK Census Date 1841: Jane was recorded in Church Street, St Mary Stoke Newington, Middlesex, England. Aged 70. Also in the household were her three unmarried daughters Jane, Laura and Elizabeth Mary, and one servant.
Oct. 24, at Stoke Newington, aged 78, Jane Vazeille Sundius. widow of the late Christopher Sundius, Esq.[4]
She was buried on 24 October 1849 (possibly with her husband in a vault under City Road Chapel but burial records state she was buried in Northumberland)[5].
