Mary Ann was born in 1858 in Indiana. She was the daughter of George Washington Smith and Eliza Catherine Pulliam.

She was living with her parents in Harrison township, Harrison, Indiana in 1860.[1]

She moved with them to Clay county, Illinois. The family was in Bible Grove, Clay, Illinois in 1870.[2]

She married Alfred McKnelly on 15 Mar 1877 in Clay county, Illinois.[3] They had children.

They were living in Blair, Clay, Illinois in 1880.[4]

Alfred died in 1882.

She married Thomas C. Kellums on 28 Feb 1884 in Clay county, Illinois.[5] They had a son.

Thomas died about 1892.

She married Thomas B. Hord on 20 Oct 1898 in Clay county, Illinois.[6]

They were separated by 1900. She was living with her married daughter Sarah (McKnelly) Britton and husband George S. Britton in Clay county in 1900.[7]

She returned to the surname Kellums. She was living with son Lee Harrison Kellums in Blair township, Clay, Illinois in 1910 and 1920.[8][9]

She married William H. Smith (or Schmidt). They were in Blair, Clay, Illinois in 1930.[10]

She passed away in 1933. Her death record listed her under the surname Smith.[11]
