Biography

Samuel Smith was an early settler in New Jersey.

Birth on 10 May 1664 in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, England, recorded in the Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire Quarterly Meeting[1]. Parents named as John and Martha.

Came to Salem, New Jersey in 1675[2] with family. His children were Samuel, Jr. bc 1690 d Dec 1737, NJ; Mary, Hannah, Elizabeth and Mary Ann Smith Source needed.

Research Notes

there are several contemporary Samuel Smiths who left NJ wills before 1730, but none list the kids listed above.[3]
