Sarah Smith was born in 1855. She is the daughter of Daniel Smith and Lydia Washburn

In the 1880 Federal Population Census, Joseph was head of household, 30 years old, married, farmer with wife Sara, 35 years old and daughter Olive (5 years old born in KS) , and sons Martin (4 years old, born Kansas) and Clarence ( 1 year old born Kansas)

In the 1900 Federal Population Census, Joseph was head of household, married 27 years, born Illinois, father born Indiana,mother born in Ohio. farmer, months not employed zero, could read, write and speak English, owned his home on a farm, farm schedule 169.

Sarah had 10 living children; she was born in Illinois, her father was born in Indiana; her mother was born Illinois. She could read, write, and speak English

She passed away in 1920.
