Julia Smith was born about 1817 in the area of central Tennessee which later became Cannon County. First-hand information as remembered by Lee Hale, Thursday, September 18, 2014. She m. Robert C. Hale, 1837, Warren County, TN. Cannon County was established by the Tennessee state legislature on January 31, 1836, and was formed from portions of Rutherford, Smith, Wilson, and Warren counties. Before 1850 she moved from Cannon County, TN to Georgia and then to Houston County, Texas with her husband and family.
