Biography

Morrison Smith was born in 1786 in Peterculter, Aberdeenshire, Scotland to William Smith and Barbara (Henry) Smith.

He married Lilias Smith on 17 November 1808 at Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

Together they became the parents of William Smith [1809], Morrison Smith Junr, William Smith, Helen Smith, Barbara Henry (Smith) Farquhar, Agnes Smith , Alex Smith, Charlotte Skene (Smith) Spence , Lilias (Smith) Pett, Charles Frances George William Fordyce Smith , Eglantine Smith, Elizabeth Smith, Isabella Smith, and David Smith.

Morrison was the Ayton Castle gardener for William Mitchell (later William Mitchell-Innes).

He died on 25 February 1847.
