Biography
Son of David Smith and wife Hannah (née Ames) born in 1821 in Wooster Township, Wayne County, Ohio, he farmed the land settled by his father in 1833 until an accident with a runaway horse and buggy left him housebound. He married Ellen M. Parrish March 25, 1851 and they had three children, two surviving childhood. He died on the farm in 1907. Burial:
