Biography

Dan Smith born 13 Dec 1937 the son of George Smith and Virginia Murphy, he married Elaine Koski 28th of dec 1960 and had 5 kids his hobbies included electronics, football, fishing, handyman, and walking he would walk the trail by the Mississippi river downtown st paul with his wife and brother in-law Ronald and a few grand kids once in a while. he was the caretaker of the Zion Lutheran Church, st paul Mn. from 1968-1970

high school j.t.h.s. , Joliet ill. G.E.D in st paul mn 1972 he graduated from Devry Technical institute raidio & t.v. repair training 2 years at Ford motor co. -training class at work on elect-electronic basics for 6 months

Lead Technician --Supervised and trained nine technicians in the performance of chassis test on completed chassis that are ready for cabinet installation, verifying that these assemblies are in conformance with applicable engineering documents, and performance of operational test and/or alignment of completed units, -assemblies, and PC boards. Perform completed set alignments, and repair of defective sets, units, etc. to facilitate the production process. Performed video- IF alignment of color, and B/W television monitors. (Audiotronics Video Display Div, 8299 central ave, N.E. Minneapolis, MN 1965-1978)

Electricians Helper --Assisted electricians in electrical maintenance, and plant wiring, six months. (Ford motor co. 1979)

Quality Assurance Inspector -- inspected trucks on assembly line for quality approved product, (Ford motor co. 1979-2000)

when Elaine would walk to and from school dan and his brother leo where stationed up in duluth and seen her walking and called for her attention and her mother told her to stay away from men with jet black hair because they were evil or something so she ignored him for days but dan persisted and she finally talked to him.

  • Daniel Mahoney When he was 14 years old he came to America on a boat that made the trip in three months and three days. There were 700 passengers that left Ireland on their journey to America and only 43 survived. Mary his Mother and her daughter that was born during the trip did not survive. They both died on the ship and were buried at sea. Daniel and his brother John and Father were among the 43 people that survived. He was employed as fireman and was a member of the crew of the train which carried President Abraham Lincoln's body to Capital. -great grandfather
  • Sarah (Sally) Poythress Hamlin who was born the 7th of August, 1731, to William Poythress and Sarah Eppes (daughter of Col. Francis Eppes and Ann Isham) in Bristol Parish, she was the mother of John, Charles, & William who came to Ohio. She and her sons freed their slaves in 1788, after the Revolution. -fifth great grandmother
  • Sarah Eppes (daughter of Col. Francis Eppes and Ann Isham). married Col. William POYTHRESS after 1726. If you look closely at her headstone which sits directly behind the church at Blandford Cemetery (next to her husband Col. William Poythress), you will see a dent in the headstone. It is believed that her headstone was hit with a canon ball during the Revolutionary War. Testing has been done and a canon ball from that time period fits there perfectly. -sixth great grandmother
  • Henry Isham son of William Isham, Gent, of Little Harrowden, Northhamptonshire, (third son of Euseby Isham, Knt., and his wife Anne Borlase, daughter of John and Anne (Lytton) Borlase).Emigrated about 1656 to America, where he settled in the Bermuda Hundred, Henrico County, Virginia.His occupation was as an attorney. and He became the ancestor of such notable Americans as President Thomas Jefferson, Confederate General Robert E. Lee, and Chief Justice John Marshall. -7th great grandfather[1]
  • Francis Poythress "came to Virginia about 1633, and patented lands on James river, in that part of Charles City county now known as Prince George. He was burgess for Charles City county in 1645 and 1647, and for Northumberland county in 1649. He had the rank of captain. His daughter Jane who married Thomas Rolfe (Pocahontas' only known child.) -8th great grandfather
  • Elena Vere, the daughter of Richard Vere of Addington, and Isabella Green. Elena was also the sister of Sir Henry Vere (d. 1493), who in 1485, the year of his sister's marriage, served as High Sheriff of Northamptonshire. Elena and her brother are believed to be direct descendants of Robert de Vere of Addington, whose brother Aubrey de Vere III (d. 1194) was the first Earl of Oxford. The family descends from Aubrey (Albericus) de Vere I (d. 1112/13), who is named in 1086 in the Doomsday Book as holding a manor with estates in Essex, and who probably arrived in England on or after 1066 with William the Conqueror. He is the grandfather of the aforementioned brothers Robert de Vere of Addington and Aubrey III, 1st Earl of Oxford. Elena Vere and her family are said to be direct decendants of Hugh Capet of France. -13th great grandmother [2]
  • Patrick Gregor McGregory was a Scottish opportunist who landed a group of people in Maryland in 1684. Traditional sources report a military background possibly explaining why he was called "Major" and "Colonel." Moving north through New Jersey, he sought land on Staten Island but instead settled on the Hudson Highlands where he attempted to patent an estate. He appears to have been connected to Governor Thomas Dongan and his enterprises. In 1686, Dongan appointed "Major Magregorie" mustermaster general of the New York militia. -8th Great Grandfather
  • Sir Robert Campbell "was a Member of Parliament for Argyll from 1639-1641, and again from 1643-49, and was thus brought into the very centre of the military, political and ecclesiastical movements of that stormy period...." he was the son of Duncan Campbell, "Black Duncan of the 7 Castles" 7th Laird of Glenorchy, 1st Baronet of Campbell -10th Great Grandfather

  • Lady Margaret Fleming daughter of Malcolm, 3rd Lord Fleming, and Janet Stewart (natural daughter of James IV, King of Scots),she was reputed to have powers of incantation ,and is said, at the birth of James VI, 19 June 1566, to have cast the pains of childbirth from the Queen upon Margaret Beaton. -12th Great Grandmother
