I was born in Clovis, New Mexico due to my father being a pilot in the USAF, living in New Mexico, Stillwater Oklahoma, Waco Texas and Kadena AFB Okinawa before age 9 when Dad retired and began working for Delta Airlines in Atlanta, GA where we resided in Tucker, Georgia (NE Atlanta). I married David Harold Smith in the 80s and bought a home in Norcross, GA... and had a son in March 9, 1989. We divorced around 1991; whereas I moved back down the road to Tucker and remarried in 1994 to James Franklin Brand. We moved to Lawrenceville GA where we raised my son and his daughter until moving to Rhea County TN in 2009. Having semi-retired from being an advertising exec in Atlanta, I now enjoy working on tracing my Smith heritage for my father while he is still here to give me information.
His tree is as follows: Cecil B. Smith b. 1929 - , Arthur Bryan Smith, William Davis Smith, George Washington Smith, Alexander Washington Smith, ??? -- (Henry/John Smith via Knox County). I am in need of assistance in finding whom Alexander's father is. Most likely a son of John Smith & Jane Greer but no documentation other than DNA matches possibly to Henry. Alexander and his sons had a large Smith farm in Cumberland County which originally was granted in Rhea County. Any assistance in finding Alexander Smith's parents would be great! I have a birth year of 1814 based on several Census', he married Malona Brewer and most likely buried in Brewer Cemetery with no headstone.

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM; thank you so much! Here's a link to a great step-by-step explanation of the process, including screenshots that you might find helpful.
The help pages give lots of information about the process, good to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
