In the 1910 census, her son Dayton Leffel's entry is provided. Mary is not named in the census; instead there is a line under Robert O'Neil that is noted as his wife.
In 1922, Richard passed away in Lincoln.

Former Resident Buried Here Friday
Burial services for Mrs. Mary O’Neill, 81, a former Crete resident were held at 2:30 o’clock Friday afternoon at the grave in Crete Riverside cemetery. Mrs. O’Neill died Tuesday evening, January, 17, at her home in Omaha. Mrs. O’neill had resided in Crete, Lincoln and Omaha for many years.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. M. S. Hartman of Omaha; a son, Dorsey H. Leffel of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Friday morning, Jan. 20, at 10:30 at the Crosby-Carlton-Meyer chapel in Omaha with Rev. F. Hargrove of Omaha officiating.
