John, oldest child of Lieutenant John Smith and Jane Cocke, mar- ried Nov. 24, 1714, Ann (b. Jan. 10, 1700, d cir 1748), daughter of Thomas Smith and Ann Briscoe. His children as given in the Christ Church Parish Register are as follows: 1. Jane, b. Sept. 25, 1715, married Aug. 12, 1735, John Vivion,
