Biography

Sally's mother, Jane Resseguie, born in 1750; died Feb 11, 1823. She married, Feb 18, 1777, Nathan Smith, son of Samuel and Ruth (Gaylord) Smith, of Ridgefield. He was born July 17, 1753, and died Oct 1, 1831. They lived in Ridgefield. Mr Smith represented his town in the State Legislature a number of times. Children:

• Polly Smith, b Sept 27, 1778; md Benjamin Benedict
• Abigail Smith, b May 7, 1781; d Nov 2, 1862, in ridgefield, Conn; unmarried.
• Anna Smith, b Aug 1, 1783 in Ridgefield; md Jeremiah Dauchey; lived in Troy, New York
• Sally Smith b April 5, 1786; md Thaddeus Jewett
• Nathan Smith b Nov 11, 1788
