Elizabeth was born in 1859 in Dunrossness, Shetland, Scotland.[1] She is the daughter of Malcolm Smith and Barbara Youngclaus.[2] She married Charles A. Wells on 31 Mar 1887 in Howard County, Iowa, United States.[3]
