Henry was born about 1829 in Gloucestershire, England.
He married Mary Ann (Batten) Smith on the 15 June 1856 in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand .[1]Henry lived in New Plymouth for 5 years before marrying Mary-Ann Batten, working at bush felling. Henry was aged 27 and Mary-Ann was 21 years old when they married. The marriage was witnessed by Alfred & Emily Marsh (nee Batten) at Marsh's house, Te Henui, New Plymouth. They were married by the Rev. James Long.
They had about twelve children.
Henry Smith lived in New_Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand.
Death
Henry passed away on the 19 August 1905 in New Plymouth, Taranaki, New Zealand, he was buried at the Te Henui Cemetery, New Plymouth, New Plymouth District, Taranaki, New Zealand. Plot: Anglican Row 9 - Lot 9 ( Plot 3).[2][3].
