Evelyn Smith was born April 24, 1852, in Marshfield, Maine. Evelyn is the daughter of Wilber (born about 1824 in Maine) and Ursula (born about 1830 in Maine) (Smith) Smith. She had at least two brothers, Ellis (born about 1854) and Dayton (born about 1864), both in Maine. All four of Evelyn's grandparents were born in Maine.
In 1850, 1860, and 1870, he lived with his parents in Whitneyville. In 1870 he worked as a clerk in a store.
George Bridgham and Evelyn were married in 1873 in Maine.
In 1880, George lived in Marshfield where he was a camp cook. Living with him was his wife, Evelyn. Both were living in the household of her parents, Wilber and Ursula Smith, and their two sons.
In 1900, he lived in the household of his widowed brother-in-law, Ellis Smith, in Marshfield. George was a laborer in a sawmill and had been unemployed for six months. Living with him was his wife, Evelyn S. They had been married about 27 years and had no children.
In 1910, George Bridgeham [sic] owned his home on Main Road in Marshfield, where he was a sawmill oiler. Living with him was his wife, Evelyn S. She had had no children.
George E. Bridgham died in Marshfield on April 30, 1916, of mitral insufficiency. He is buried at Grove Cemetery in Marshfield.
In 1920, widowed Evelyn Bridgham lived in the household of her brother-in-law [sic] (more likely her brother) Dayton W. Smith at his farm on Northfield Rd. in Marshfield.
Evelyn (Smith) Bridgham died of carcinoma of the stomach in Marshfield on March 6, 1921, at the age of 68.
