OBITUARY.
Died, at his residence in Grand Co- teen, Oct. 11th, 1883, JOHN F. SMITH, aged 67 years and 5 months.
Scarce ten months have elapsed since we consigned to their last resting place the remains of the loving companion of his old age, ere we are called upon to perform the same sad duty to the worthy subject of this notice.
A few days since he was among us enjoying apparent good health, but death gives short warning.
After a brief illness of ten days, he died a death characteristic of the life he had spent, peaceful and happy, sur- rounded by his devoted children, kind friends, and solaced by all the comforts of religion.
A loving father, a sincere friend, a true christian, an honest and upright citizen, he leaves a void difficult to be filled. A FRIEND.
