Anne was born about 1620. She was the wife of James Ewell and they lived in Accomack County, Virginia.
In 1677, she was charged with assaulting another woman in Accomack County, Virginia:[1]
22 November
”Where as Jane Willis hath made it appar’t to the Court by the oathes of Abraham Taylor and Jone ffrankling that Ann the Wife of James Ewell hath broke his Majes’ties Law by beating & assaulting the said Willis: It is therefore ordered that the sd Ann Ewell be forthwith comitted to the Sheriff’s custody and there to remain until she find sufficient security for the Law and good behavior unto all his Majesty Liege People Especially to Jane Willis and also Cost of Suit.”
