Biography

Samuel was born about 1821. He was a son of Isaac Smith and Mary Davisson.

Samuel Smith married Charlotte Marsh on June 10, 1841 in Harrison County, Virginia (today West Virginia).[1] Together, they had seven children including:

  • Lucretta C Smith (1842-1869)
  • Alcibiades Smith (1844-1922) m. Edith L Carter
  • Milton M Smith (1846- ?) m. Elizabeth Scranage
  • Isaac B Smith (1848-1916)
  • James Newton Smith (1850-1931) m. Flora Adeline Shaver
  • Lora Ann Smith (1852-1911) m. Jacob Calvin Whiteman
  • Millard Filmore Smith (1853-1943) m. Effie Ellen Hardman

After his wife Charlotte died, Samuel Smith remarried to Rosa A Stout on December 1, 1892 in Harrison County, West Virginia.[1] They had no known children together.

His exact death date is unknown, but he likely passed away in 1911.
