Biography

Career

  • Professional (American) Football Player
  • 1st round pick (#17) in the 1990 NFL Draft
  • Running back
  • "Smith is the only running back to ever win a Super Bowl championship, the NFL Most Valuable Player award, the NFL rushing crown, and the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award all in the same season (1993). "[1]
  • 3 Super Bowl wins (with the Dallas Cowboys)
  • 2010: Pro Football Hall of Fame
  • One of the three "Triplets" of the Cowboys. The others were Troy Aikman (quarterback) and Michael Irvin (wide receiver).[1]
  • Holds a lot of NFL records and highly notable stats, though some not all on his own - probably a statistician's dream player. He holds records in both season and postseason stats. He threw his first touch-down pass in his last season, thus holding yet another record as the oldest player in NFL history to do so.[1]
  • Played his last two years for the Arizona Cardinals but was able to retire as a Cowboy due to some simple and straight-forward contract negotiation.
