DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Jim by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jim:

Hi Jim

I see that you just did the Pre-1700 Self-Certification. That's great! Also noticed you made 158 contributions to Wikitree, thank you! Here at WikiTree we like to have our members involved with others; collaboration is key!

Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically-significant ancestors? Here is a list of our WikiTree projects you might like to check out: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Projects

Why don't you also stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.

Dorothy, Volunteer Coordinator.

p.s. I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process that you might find helpful. Also, about 'Importing a GEDCOM' Because WikiTree has only one profile for each person, the further back you go in your ancestry, the more likely cousins will find you and help out.

Be sure to include the sources used, on each profile you add.

It is a good idea to enter a few of your ancestors manually, to get used to how WikiTree works. Then, to start, you could upload a small portion of your tree with a gedcom to see how that works. There is often editing needed after a Gedcom import, so fewer profiles makes the task easier

Hi Jim, You are now a member of the WikiTree Community - Thank you for volunteering to help grow our World Wide Family Tree. We are building one Collaborative Tree with just one profile per person, so it is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree.

If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add, please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Also, be sure to include a list of the sources used, on each profile you add.

If you need any help getting started check out the Help Index or the G2G forum . Also our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.

Good luck growing your branches, Patt
