DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Steve by comparing test results with other carriers of his ancestors' Y-chromosome or mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Steve:

Hi Steve,

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!

Pre-1700 ancestors can be shared by many descendants, so collaboration is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.

The England Project may fit your research focus. If not, use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find other possibilities. Review the project page to learn about resources and guidelines as well as how to collaborate with the project members.

Have questions? Ask in the comments section of my profile.

Thank you for that invaluable snippet of information Steve! Both Sarah's marriages are now recorded - I'm still unable to find a birth or death though. There are a surprising number of Sarah Stedmans/Stidmans!

Hi Steve

I am very interested in your Purcell research. I need to get it correct. I’m not even sure if it’s the same line. My great great great grandfather is Edward Ned Purcell and his parents are John Weller Purcell and I believe Mary Redden. John Weller Purcell’s father is William Purcell and Maria Castlelake/Ann Livett.

Hi Steve, Please remember to add sources and locations for the profiles you're creating. It really helps us to collaborate when we have more information about a profile. Sarah Batt or John Purcell, born about 1700, with no location, doesn't give enough information to someone looking to see if someone else has already entered them on WikiTree. Even a colony or country is a help, Thanks! Kay Wilson, Ranger

Hi!

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Shirley ~ WikiTree Mentor

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community. Please note we are trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means one profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree - if you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top right, or head over to the G2G forum and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House. You might also want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

We also have Mentors to help too.

Welcome! Kristi

It stated innocently enough, to confirm (or deny) some family 'stories'. I now have family information going back 12 generations, but there are other family branches which are only 4 generations & then a void.

Looking forward to adding more extended family branches in.

Yes, a 6x grandfather was on board The Bounty Yes, there are a few convicts in the family.

Cheers. Steve
