Hi!

Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month! We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:

Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.

We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.

And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.

As always, I'm here to help if you have any questions!

Please join our New Smith Researchers page and tell us what Smiths you are researching. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Smith_Researchers

Just add your name and ancestor information to the Smith Researcher page.

Then, at the top of your profile biography section, add Category: Smith Researchers inside double braces (that is two opening [[ and two closing), so that the category is added to your profile biography. Hope you join us soon! Kitty Cooper-1 Smith

Please check our list of Earliest Known Smith Ancestors to see if your EKA already has a profile on WikiTree. http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:SmithConnection.com_DNA_Project

Please set your preferences for your Tags Followed to include Smith and any other tag terms that you wish to follow on the GenealogistToGenealogist (G2G) feed: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Following

As you add your profiles and connect to the WikiTree, you may find cousins you never expected. Use the Relationship calculator to see if you are related to me, Cooper-1 with http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Special:Relationship

Hi!

How are you? I'm Shirley, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

How To Use WikiTree is a good starting point, and the Help Index is an important place to find out how to do most tasks.

If you have pre-1700's ancestors to add please read our Pre-1700 profiles info. Do you have Royal Ancestors? Rather than create duplicate profiles for them, please contact the EuroAristo Project to discuss connecting your family line to their profiles.

And I'm here to help too, just ask!

Shirley ~ WikiTree Mentor

Thanks for joining us! I hope you enjoy our community.

If you need any help getting started check out the help section from the menu, top left, or head over to the G2G forum. You might want to check out the introductory WikiTree video that a member created.

Our Mentor Team are a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you with specific problems if you have any.
