Biography

Mary was born in August 1870 in , Kentucky. She was the daughter of William Smith and Elizabeth (Ford) Smith.^[1]

In 1875 Mary (age about 4) was living in Dassel, Meeker, Minnesota.^[2]

In 1880 Mary (age about 9) was living in Eden, Todd, Minnesota.^[3]

When Mary was about 16 she married James Henry Burton in about 1887. The couple had 4 children: William James Burton, Gracie M. Burton, Katie Burton and UNKNOWN Burton.^[1]

In 1895 Mary (age about 24) was living in Germania, Todd, Minnesota.^[4]

In 1900 Mary (age about 29) was living in Eagle Bend, Todd, Minnesota.^[1]

In 1920 Mary (age about 49) was living in Sumner, Pierce, Washington.^[5]

Mary died after 29 April 1922.^[6]
