Lovina Walker formerly Smith, was born September 16, 1827 to Hyrum Smith and Jerusha Barden in Manchester, New York.[1]
Lovina married Lorin Walker, June 23, 1844 in Nauvoo, Hancock, Illinois, United States.[2] She is the mother of Hyrum Smith Sr. Walker, Isabella Rosalie Walker, Jerusha Celeste Walker, Edwina Mariah Walker, Emma Irene Walker, William Arthur Walker, Sarah Ellen Helen Walker, Lucy Lovina Walker, John Lorin Walker, Joseph Frederick Walker, Don Carlos Walker, Charles Henry Walker and David Henry Walker.[3]
Lovina and Lorin are first noted as traveling to Utah with the Samuel Gully/Orson Spencer Company (1849) when their son Hyrum Smith Walker was just an infant.[4]
Lovina and. Lorin Walker are also listed as joining the John Smith Overland Travel Company for the trek to Utah in 1860, perhaps assisting others to make the journey.[5] They encountered many hardships along the way.

Lovina died October 8, 1876 in Farmington, Utah Territory. She is buried in Salt Lake City Cemetery, Salt Lake, Utah. [6]
