Samuel Lothrop Smith was the son of Samuel Hopkins Smith and Bathshua Lothrop of Eastham, Mass[1][2][3][4][5]
On On October 9, 1712, he married Abigail Freeman, the daughter of Nathaniel Freeman and Mary Howland of Eastham, Massachusetts [2][3][4][5][6][7], and their children included:
Mary, born June 23, 1723[3][4][6], who married Thomas Mulford, Jr[2]
Zoeth, born December 11, 1716[8][3][4], who graduated from Harvard College in 1736[6]. He married Hannah Sears and Ruth Mayo[2]
Abigail, born December 17, 1718[3][4][6], who married Jesse Eldredge, and lived in Mansfield and Wellington, Connecticut[2]
Martha, born August 23, 1721[3][4][6], who married Reuben Rich[2]
Bashua, born May 9, 1723[3][4][9][6], who married William Atwood[2]
Susanna, born August 25, 1727[3][4][6], who married Christopher Atwood[2]
Samuel, born Feb 21, 1729[3][4][6], who married Lydia (Godfrey) Merrick[2]
Abigail (Freeman) Smith died May 17, 1737 at Eastham[3], and is buried in Wellfleet[2][6]
On December 29, 1737, he remarried Sarah (Winslow) Paine, the daughter of Kenelm Winslow and Abigail Waterman, and the widow of Tobias Paine[11][2][3][4], and their children included:
Sarah, born circa 1738, who died June 3, 1740, age 1 year, 6 months[2][4]
Samuel died on July 18, 1768 in his 78th year[3][2], and his will was proved 11 October 1768 [4]. He is buried in the Duck Creek Cemetery in Wellfleet[2][13]
Samuel's will dated 15 April 1768 probate 11 Oct in Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States.[14]
