Biography

Samuel Lothrop Smith was the son of Samuel Hopkins Smith and Bathshua Lothrop of Eastham, Mass^{[1] [2] [3] [4] [5]}

On On October 9, 1712, he married Abigail Freeman, the daughter of Nathaniel Freeman and Mary Howland of Eastham, Massachusetts ^{[2] [3] [4] [5] [6][7]}, and their children included:

1. Mary, born June 23, 1723^{[3] [4] [6]}, who married Thomas Mulford, Jr^[2]
2. Zoeth, born December 11, 1716^{[8] [3] [4]}, who graduated from Harvard College in 1736^[6]. He married Hannah Sears and Ruth Mayo^[2]
3. Abigail, born December 17, 1718^{[3] [4] [6]}, who married Jesse Eldredge, and lived in Mansfield and Wellington, Connecticut^[2]
4. Martha, born August 23, 1721^{[3] [4] [6]}, who married Reuben Rich^[2]
5. Bashua, born May 9, 1723^{[3] [4] [9] [6]}, who married William Atwood^[2]

Samuel died on July 18, 1768 in his 78th year^{[3] [2]}, and his will was proved 11 October 1768 ^[4]. He is buried in the Duck Creek Cemetery in Wellfleet^{[2] [13]}

Samuel's will dated 15 April 1768 probate 11 Oct in Barnstable, Massachusetts, United States.^[14]
