Biography
Hattie E. Smith was born in Craftsbury, Orleans County, Vermont, in 1866,[1][2][3][4] the daughter of Richard W. & Emily E. (Garvin?) Smith.[5]
On 4 July 1897 in Danville, she married as her second husband, Aurelius J. Odekirk, the son of William & Elizabeth (Bovee) Odekirk.[6] In their marriage announcement in the local paper she was called "Mrs. Hattie Putnam."[7]
Hattie died on 22 January 1900 in Danville at age 33 years, 10 months and 4 days, of "chronic nephritis."[8][9], and a photo of her gravestone in Danville Green cemetery can be viewed on Findagrave.com Memorial #157803606.
