"The third of September, Sir Lawrence Smith, knight, who had been four times mayor of this city, was buried at St. Bride's church: the funeral sermon was preached by Mr. Goodman, standing in the window of the high house next adjoining to the church, because the church was so little, and the company so great." (page 393)
