DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:

Schnebeli-28 and Snavely-426 appear to represent the same person because: same person; same spouse; different spelling of Last Name

Schnebeli-28 and Snavely-426 are not ready to be merged because: I'd like to try and verify the correct spelling of the last name before merging.

I've also seen that surname spelled 'Schnebly'. In family histories (c 1900) it's usually Snavely. But when it changed from a German spelling to an anglicized spelling I can't tell.

I'm OK with whatever you find although I encourage adding 'Other Last Names' for completeness.

Yes, definitely! Good suggestion.

Any progress on this merger? They get stale or forgotten if they sit around for too long.
