Biography

John Snow Jr. was born on July 20, 1798 in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. He was the oldest son of John Snow Sr., b: 1774 in Billerica, Massachusetts and his wife Dorcas (Abbott) Snow, b: 1773 in Andover. Mass.. They had married on February 24, 1798, in Billerica.
On November 22, 1818, John Snow Jr., married Eleanor Frost, b: 1799 in neighboring Arlington, Middlesex Co., Massachusetts, USA. They married in Eleanor's home town of Arlington. Alas, tragedy struck the young couple early in life because just six months after their wedding, Eleanor (Frost) Snow died on May 3, 1819. She was only 19 years old. They had no children.[1]
John Snow remarried on March 20, 1823, to Emily Russell, b: 1802 in Arlington, Massachusetts. The couple had 2 daughters: [2]
- Emily Snow, b: Jan. 1, 1824
- Lucretia Snow, b: 1825
Unfortunately, these 2 daughters were all that John Snow would produce as he unexpectedly died on August 21, 1824, at home in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. His wife was pregnant with his 2nd child when he passed away. John Snow is buried at the Second Burial Ground, Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, USA. [3] His wife's grave has not been found; it's likely she remarried and was buried under her 2nd married name.
