Memories of Bill Gray:
William Gray Gray-8648 related the story about his childhood written to Julia Ryan Balzarano-1 11/12/2014
Hi Julia, Growing up in Alabama, my brother, Bob, your uncle Buddy (Paul Lowell), and I were the Three Musketeers. Before Aunt Lulu Belle died, she, Buddy, Martha Rose, and Mary Nell lived on 14th Avenue in Sheffield just a couple of blocks from where Bob and I lived on 14th Avenue. Before they moved to Sheffield, they lived with with Grandma (Cora) and Grandpa (Ed) Gray. The neighbors loved them and called him Mr. Ed. He had a brother, Uncle Bob, who married my mom's sister, Alice, and they had a farm adjacent to grandpa's farm. After Aunt Lulu Belle's death, Buddy, Mary Nell, and Martha Rose lived with Grandma and Grandpa Gray again. I loved spending time on the farm. Bob, Buddy, and I did everything together -- swimming in the muddy creek, riding the horse and mules to Hester's grocery store about a mile away, etc.
