Biography
Helen's story is tragic.
Helen was born to Herman Sollie and Maurine Brown on February 23, 1932 in Mississippi.[1][2]
She married Dr. Robert Sims April 25, 1948. (I have not yet found legitimate documentation (proof) that this was their marriage date, but this date keeps popping up in various searches.Karr-191 12:09, 15 October 2014 (EDT))
They had three daughters, and moved at some point to Tallahassee, Florida. Robert became an official with the Florida state Department of Education, and Helen was a secretary for a Baptist church in their community.
October 22, 1966, their home was invaded, Robert and Joy Lynn Sims, the youngest daughter, were found brutally murdered in their home. Helen died of her injuries from the vicious attack a few days later. The two other daughters were out babysitting when the attack took place, and came home to find their family. [3]
The two surviving daughters were adopted by Helen's sister, Jo. The crime has never been solved.
