Biography

Isabel or Isabella Ann "Belle" Solomon was born in Nassau, Bahamas in 1829 to Joseph Elias Solomon and Ann Catherine Michell/Mitchell.

Isabel Solomon married Charles James Musgrove, son of Joseph Justice Musgrove and Louise Bonamy Musgrove, about 1848 - probably in the Bahama Islands. The couple had children - a son who died in 1850 at 15 months of age, William Edward Musgrove born about 1852, and Joseph Charles Musgrove born in 1854. Charles James Musgrove was a planter and shopkeeper in Saint Salvador (Cat Island) and his children were born there. He died at the Bight of Cat Island 8 August 1859.

Isabel Musgrove returned to Nassau to live after her husband's death and had two relationships that produced three children. There is no evidence that she married either of these men. Her son Lorenzo George was born 24 February 1865 to Isabella Musgrove and Frederick Hilbrand and they baptized him at St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Nassau, 1 April 1865. Several years later, Lorenzo George adopted the surname - Brice - the name carried by the daughter and son of David Andrew Brice and Bell Musgrove. Allen Mitchell Brice was born in 1867 and Alicia Ellen Brice was born in 1870. Two years later D A Brice married Maria Starr Stockman in Pennsylvania.

Isabel Ann Solomon Musgrove died in Nassau, Bahamas 22 June 1891 at almost 62 years of age.
