There was a Jacob Songer married to Elizabeth Wilson who lived in Southern Indiana. He is often stated to have been born in Va, lived in Southern Indiana, and died in Va. His parents are usually given as Peter Songer and Mary Schroyer, and rarely George Songer and Barbara Hess.

I'm wondering if the man from Southern Indiana, who married Elizabeth Wilson, has been conflated with a Jacob who was born and died in Va.

Jacob and Elizabeth from Indiana had a daughter Mary, whose death certificate stated her father Jacob Songer was born in Penn. Jacob and Elizabeth had children born in Indiana Mary Rachel SONGER b: 9 Apr 1819 in INDIANA Wesley SONGER b: ABT 1822 in INDIANA Rhoda SONGER b: ABT 1832 in INDIANA Wilson SONGER b: ABT 1834 in INDIANA America SONGER b: ABT 1838 in INDIANA William SONGER b: ABT 1843 in INDIANA

In the 1850 census, Jacob and Elizabeth are living in Newburgh, Warrick, Indiana. Why would he return to Va., and die there in 1853?
