Lived 22 years in South Beloit, moving from Loves Park. Married Eleanor Hicks in Freeport, Feb. 11, 1923. Professional violinist; leader of local bands. Furniture salesman for Rockford Standard Furniture and Pierson Factory showrooms for many years. Member Maranatha Open Bible Church, Beloit, Wis. Avid in all areas of music and record collector. Attended Rockford schools. Survivors: one son, Richard (Patricia) Sorensen, Glen Ellyn; one daughter, Betty (Clyde) Blackburn, Leoti, Kan.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Brown, Ashville, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by one sister, Marian Cloud.
Services at 2 p.m. Monday in ULREY FUNERAL HOME-CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES, 7000 W. State St., with the Rev. Arthur May, pastor of Maranatha Open Bible Church, officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. No visitation. Memorial to the church. 5-1-3[5]
