Hjalmar Sorensen was born in Queensland, Australia
Hjalmar Frederick "Skip" Sorensen was born on 17 May 1901, Queensland, Australia. He was the eldest son of Niels Peter Sorensen and his wife Johanne Frederike Nielsen. [1]
In 1925 he was residing at Yerra, Queensland with his parents, where he and his father were Farmers. [2]

They relocated again the following year to Dalrymple Heights, near Mackay, Queensland where Skip continued in his chosen profession. [5]
In May 1941 he filed for the dissolution of his marriage to Rachel, on the grounds of her adultery, and was granted a decree nisi to be moved absolute at the end of three months. [6]
He married again to Edna May Herbert in 1941 and they were blessed with at least one daughter.
Hjalmar was registered as still living at Dalrymple Heights until 1943 when he moved to 64 Bridge Street, Mackay, Queensland and continued his career as a Truck Driver. [7]
He continued to live at this last address in Mackay and work as a Truck Driver until he passed away on 20 November 1973 at Mackay, Queensland. [8]
