Keith was born in 1923. He is the son of William Sorenson and Jessie Willhite. He passed away in 2005.

Keith W. Sorenson, 82, Yates Center, died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at his home.

He was born April 2, 1923, in Yates Center, the son of William N. and Jessie Blanche Wilhite Sorenson. He grew up in Yates Center and attended schools there.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II as a glider mechanic and co-pilot in central Europe and the Rineland.

He worked as an auto mechanic and was a member of American Legion Post #13 and Disabled Veterans of America.

He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

He married Margaret Reavis. They later divorced.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Sorenson, Yates Center, and Bryan Sorenson, Lawrence; two brothers, Norman Sorenson, Yates Center, and Marvin Sorenson, Chanute; a sister, Sadie Burton, Iola; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Cremation will take place. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, June 17, at Yates Center Cemetery with military honors.

Memorials to American Legion Post #13 may be left with Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.
