William was born in 1774, the son of Richard Sorrells and Mildred Snead. He married Dorcas V Sanders in 1797.[1] They had the following children:

Family letters show service in War of 1812. William Alexander Sorrells passed away in 1841, and was buried at Sorrells Family Cemetery, Monroe, Walton County, Georgia, in a now-unmarked grave.[2]
