A BIOGRAPHY OF ELLA SOUTER SHRIVER, by Larry Overmire (great nephew), August 2008:
Ella Souter was born in on November 30, 1855, the daughter of James and Margaret Souter of Butler, Richland County, Ohio.
On July 9, 1885, at the age of 30, she married Silas Elmore Shriver, the son of David and Rebecca (Scott) Shriver. They had 4 children: Harriet Mae, William Frank, Jay Souter, and Margaret Rebecca.
Elmore was a farmer in Clear Creek Township, Ashland County, Ohio.
Ella passed away on November 24, 1928, at the age of 72 and is buried in Ashland Cemetery.
