Alfred Southerland is a member of Clan Sutherland.

The county of birth for Alfred is unknown and his name was mispelled Alford on the 1880 Census. It seems that Hardin may have inherited or bought some of his Dad's property. He is very near where he lived the rest of his life. We are seeing the Sutherland name used many times for this name. I have a feeling that when this Southerland branch left England it was Southerland. Sid Southerland states his surname is Scottish. (Conjecture) All 3 of the 1860 to 1880 Census' have the name spelled Sutherland. E
