Research Notes

Mary "died with her son of starvation in the streets, when her husband was ejected from his living." [2] doesn't really match up with the story from the Alumni Cantabrigienses, where her husband was Vicar of Preston until 1673 when he was deprived of his living.

Marie Martin (d. 10 May 1639, Halstead, Eng) md Henry Martyn (b. abt 1569, d. 25 Apr 1620 WP) 1573 (no issue)

Henry Martyn's Father=Robert Richard Martyn (d. 1576) whose father was EOL William Martyn (b. abt 1420) and mother was EOL Marie Martin (d. 10 May 1639, whoops we've seen that name before!) Robert Richard Martyn had a brother Robert, and another named Richard. Neither had issue. But, he had 19 children. 10 named Joane. 1 named Johana, 1 named daughter, 2 named Thomas, 2 named John, 1 named Henry. All of this from his wife named Robert. He had two wives named Robert. Each giving him 19 children, and another wife named Joan Harris who gave him 27 children 13 named Joan. The others were named Henry or Thomas. 1 was named Peter. Obviously, Robert Richard had a "Joan" fetish.
