Biography

Cited as the father of convicted mass murderer Henry Sovereen in Dictionary of Canadian Biography. The article incorrectly names Ann (Nancy) Culver as David's wife and the mother of Henry.[1] She was actually the wife of David's brother Philip. David's wife was Anna Rarick.

When David Sovereign was born in 1757 in Schooleys Mountain, New Jersey, his father, Frederick, was 43 and his mother, Ann, was 32. He married Anne Nancy Rarick in 1781 in his hometown. They had 11 children in 23 years. He died in 1845 in Norfolk, Ontario, Canada, having lived a long life of 88 years.
