- Bordentown, New Jersey: The town is in Burlington County. Its 2000 figure of population is 3,969. It was incorporated as a town in 1825. The first permanent settler was Thomas Farnsworth in 1682. However, the town was name for Joseph Borden in 1717, who had developed a transportation system from New York City to Philadelphia, PA. Clara Barton, a resident of Bordentown, in the mid-1800s, started the American Red Cross.
