Hi y'all! Couple of new things. First, NNS now has Huguenot categories. If your ancestor was a Huguenot who moved from France to anywhere else, he or she is probably eligible for the Huguenot Migration project. If your ancestor is a Huguenot, regardless of where, add Category:NNS Huguenot or Category:NNS Huguenot Ancestor (see the category page for NNS Huguenot for links and more information - nice job Steven!!) Second - I just added a new section under Useful Pages on the project page (see Useful Pages). The impetus for the "One Name Studies, Bibliographies, and DNA" section was the wonderful Quackenbush Bibliography new member Carrie Quackenbush is working on. Check it out! Cheers, Liz

This should be a project page and doesn't need managers other than a couple.
Hi y'all! A couple of things - first, a new NNS category you might find useful: Ships . Please explore the links there & see if you can find your immigrant ancestor on a passenger list. If you do, add the ship category to his or her profile page (if there isn't a ship category yet, you can add one - or let me know the ancestor's WikiTree ID & the URL for the passenger list and I'll start one). Second, I'll be stepping down as a Leader on October 30, so let me know sooner rather than later if you have any profiles that you need unlocked so they can be merged away or ones to be added to the Approval System - first step is adding the Merge Notice template and protecting the profile (PPP). Cheers, Liz
I'm deleting a bunch of messages that are expanding outside the message box and re posting them.
Too cool!! A new feature for templates was just implemented & I changed {New Netherland Settler} to use it, and Dan Thompson changed the Migrating Ancestors template - instead of "This person..." they now reflect the name that's shown at the top of the profile (the "Headline of public profile" name display). See Blanchan-5 for an example. Cheers, Liz

I could, but they’re different functions – NNS and New Netherland Settlers are different categories. And, mostly, I’ll be deleting lines (the redesign is super airy around elements; the previous design had nearly no leading, so we added lines to separate the elements – those lines each now have what looks like a space and a half above/below). I did add at the end of the NNS template, and that made about 90% of the profiles in the NNS category look nice.

Liz... can't you just add the dividing lines to the template instead of adding them by hand?

Hi! If you're noticing that I'm doing a lot of edits to your profile... I'm not really. Since the redesign of WikiTree profile pages, the lines (both grey, made by four hyphens, and the green NNS category lines) that we had previously added to profiles to separate templates no longer made for an attractive layout. I'm working on changing the profiles where we have multiple lines to be more compact (over the next week or so). Cheers, Liz

Douglas - thanks for asking. I changed the Project Protected .. I thought they were still in an unmerged match, but when I went to propose a merge it went to the confirm page, so I backed out of it. Seems it's ready to be merged now!

Both of these profiles are Project Protected & represent the same person. Should we merge? If so, how?

Fredricks-1 & Frederickse-2.

I believe Frederickse-2 is more accurate with spelling & detail.
