Please Participate

Do you have a family member who participated in World War 2? Please add them to the museum.

If you only have a minute, simply write a note on the Bulletin Board to the right. Include your family member's name, branch of service, unit, or any other information you know about them. A volunteer will transfer your entry to the appropriate place.

You can create a richer "museum exhibit" by adding a profile of your veteran. You don't need to include any family information but WikiTree is designed to enable you to keep it private if you choose to enter personal family history.

You can also create a page about a specific experience, battle, story, military heirloom, or anything else. Click here to create the profile.

If your family member is still living, consider asking them these World War 2 interview questions and then putting their answers on WikiTree.

If you want any help, please contact Chris Whitten.

My father was Joseph R. Brophy. He was a Staff Seargent in Europe during WWII. When I was a kid, I always tried to get him to talk about his war experience. But he would usually make some kind of joke or change the subject. Then after he passed away in 1996, I found out that he saw lots of combat, including the Battle Of The Bulge. I have to guess that what he experienced was too brutal to recount, especially to his sons, who he wanted to protect. My Mom also confirmed that he would say next to nothing about his war experiences. Whatever he did & saw, he took with him when he died. Rest in peace Pop.
