N.B., I am changing Daniel's place of birth from Franklin County, Virginia, (which did not exist until 1785, to Germany, which is supported by family lore (see below). If you have information and a valid source as to his actual place of birth, please enter that information here and notify me or the profile manager. Thank you. Patricia Prickett Hickin, 11 January 2020.)
Daniel Spangler was born in 1716, probably in Germany,[1] the son of Jacob Spangler and Elizabeth Stophell.
He married Mary Unknown. She bore him three known children, two sons and one daughter:
On 3 November 1787, when he was in his early seventies, he died in Franklin County, Virginia, of unknown causes.[2] He was buried in Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Callaway, Franklin County, Virginia.[3]
[I doubt he was born in Franklinor Franklin County, Virginia, which was only sparsely settled before the Revolution. . (Patricia Prickett Hickin, 20 Nov 2015).
