Biography

Samuel Spaulding was born in 1810 in Townsend, Massachusetts to Benjamin Spaulding Jr. and Sybel Sanders.[1][2][3][4]

In 1834, he married Rebecka Farrar in Townsend.[5][6][7] They had several children together:[8]

By 1839, they were living in Lansinburgh, New York.[13].

Rebeckah died in 1842 a few days after her twins were born.[14][citation needed]

Samuel married, second, Emily Kimball, in 1847,[15][16], and by 1850 they were in the town of Putnam.[17]

Samuel and Emily had two children:

  • Almus Hall Spaulding, b. abt. 1848[17]
  • Calista Jane Spaulding, b. 1853[18]

By 1870, Samuel, Emily and their their children had returned to Townsend, Massachusetts, where Emily died in 1878[16] and he in 1887.[19]
