Biography

Sara (Speed) Blackmore was a daughter of the historian John Speed, and the wife of Edward Blackmore, a stationer and bookseller at St Paul's Churchyard in London, England.

Marriage and family

Sara Speed married Edward Blackmore on 30 April 1622 at St Giles Cripplegate, London.^[1]

Edward Blackmore was a member of the Stationers; Company of London, and he had served his apprenticeship alongside Sara's uncle Daniell Speed. For a time, Blackmore and Daniell Speed both operated as stationers at the Blazing Star, St Paul's Churchyard.

Sara and Edward had three children:

• John Blackmore, baptised 4 April 1623, St Gregory by St Paul, London,

• Susan Blackmore, baptised 14 March 1624, St Gregory by St Paul, London.

• Samuell Blackmore, baptised 19 October 1626, St Gregory by St Paul, London.

Death

She died in London in 1652 and was buried at St Faith under St Paul on 28 August 1652.^[2]
