Obituary

Nellie Kathleen Spencer, wife of Stewart McMullen died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Glen Davis, 91 Edgewood Ave., Toronto. She was the youngest daughter of John Spencer, 8th line, Osprey. She was educated at Feversham Public, Flesherton High, Toronto Normal School and Ontario College of Art. She taught school in Osprey and Toronto. In 1942, she married Stewart McMullen of Hamilton, formerly of Feversham. She is survived by her husband, parents and sisters Eva (Mrs. W.G. Davis), Ruth (Mrs. J.A. Bell) of Collingwood, and Viva (Mrs. T.W. Beatty) of Toronto. The funeral was held Dec. 12, 1947 with Rev. F. Dean of Shelburne, Rev. R.A. Birnie of Duntroon and Rev. A. Mills of Collingwood officiated. The pallbearers were her six brother-in-laws, Dr. Glen Davis, Messrs T.W. Beatty, Ross Smith, Leslie, Herb and Jim McMullen. Interment was in the Flesherton Cemetery. Wedding Announcement

Nellie Kathleen Spencer, daughter of John Spencer of Duntroon and Clarence Stewart McMullen, son of Mrs. McMullen and the late David McMullen of Feversham were married in Duntroon on Saturday by Rev. C.W. Trotter of Collingwood. Nancy Ellen Davis, niece of the bride and daughter of W.G. Davis of Toronto was the flower girl. The couple will take a motor trip to northern Ontario and then reside in Hamilton. From the Enterprise Bulletin Aug 27, 1942
