Biography

Albert was born on 16 Mar 1875 in Newton, Township, Calhoun, Michigan to Cyrus Spencer and Mary Ann (Treadwell) Spencer.[1] According to the 1880 US Census, Albert was five years old and living with his parents in Newton, Calhoun, Michigan.[2] The 1900 US Census lists a Albert B. Spencer living in Spearville, Kansas with a wife named Lillie Spencer and a one year old child.[3] Albert died in San Francisco, California on 21 Mar 1940.[4]

Research Notes

The information provided in the 1900 US Census, i.e., born in Michigan in 1875 and father's birthplace of Ohio agree with the Albert's information. His mother is listed as born in Ohio but her profile states New York. The wives listed here do not make sense. He married Lillie in 1898, married Florence in 1904, and married Aggie in 1918. The first two wives lived until 1956 and 1949. Was he divorced from Lillie and Florence? Are there other Alberts that are confused with these marriages? His Find A Grave memorial lists the first two wives and does not list Aggie but does state "Albert Spencer's third wife was Aggie Mae Ramsdell, who was divorced from Allen L. Berg. Albert and Aggie were married 28 Feb 1918 in Yuba City, Calif. Aggie (as Mae Spencer) married Robert Christie Verges on 31 Jul 1932 in Stockton, Calif. He died in 1941 and she died in 1968."[5]

More research should be done on Albert, especially finding Census information as to where he lived and his spouses.
